Minibus Quotes Explained: Why Prices Differ From One Company to the Next
Two quotes for the same journey can differ a lot, and the cheaper one is not always the better value. Compare them on the same points: what is included, the hours and miles assumed, and how waiting and stops are handled.

Why two quotes for one trip differ
- What is included. One quote has the driver, fuel and insurance in the total. Another leaves some out and adds them later.
- The vehicle. Age, condition and specification all cost money. A newer, better-kept vehicle costs more to run.
- The hours assumed. A quote built on a shorter day looks cheaper until the real day runs longer.
- The mileage assumed. A quote that ignores the return leg or the distance from base is lower than the true cost.
- Waiting and stops. One operator prices them in, another charges for them on the day.
- The operator. Insurance cover, licences and how the business is run all show up in the price.
None of these makes the lower quote wrong. They make it a different quote.
How to compare two quotes
Put the same details in front of every operator, then line the answers up:

Your questions
Why is one minibus quote so much lower than another?
Usually because the cheaper quote leaves something out: the driver for the whole day, fuel, insurance, waiting time, or a newer vehicle. Compare the inclusions before the totals.
Should I just take the cheapest quote?
Only if it covers the same things. A lower figure that leaves out fuel or waiting time is not cheaper once they are added. Compare like for like first.
How many quotes should I get?
Two or three, each for exactly the same journey: the same pickup, stops, date, times and group size. Otherwise the figures cannot be compared.
Is a rate per mile normal?
Some operators quote that way, but it is hard to compare. Ask for the total for your journey. We give one fixed total, confirmed before you book.
